Time tracking and rosters for retail
Multiple shops, weekends and public holidays, with the roster copied from one week to the next and checked before publishing.
Each shop has its own hours, and the weekend is the peak
Shops open at weekends and on many public holidays, and each one has its own team and its own hours. Redoing the roster every week, guaranteeing each person's day of rest and knowing which public holidays apply takes up the time of whoever runs the shops.
What the law requires
Record of working time
The employer must keep time records for all employees, including those exempt from set working hours and those who work away from the premises, with start and end times and breaks. The records must be available for immediate inspection and kept for five years. Failing to keep time records is a serious administrative offence, with fines between €612 and €9,690, depending on turnover and the degree of fault.
Article 202 of the Labour Code
One day of rest per week
The employee is entitled to at least one day of rest per week.
Article 232 of the Labour Code
Work on a public holiday
An employee who works on a public holiday, in a company that is not required to close on that day, is entitled to compensatory rest of half the hours worked or to a 50% supplement on the corresponding pay, at the employer's choice.
Article 269(2) of the Labour Code
Municipal holiday and Carnival
Carnival Tuesday and the municipal holiday are optional holidays: they are only mandatory if they are provided for in the applicable collective agreement or in the employment contract.
Article 235 of the Labour Code
Holiday map
The holiday map must be drawn up by 15 April and posted in the workplace from 15 April to 31 October.
Article 241(9) of the Labour Code
A summary of the Portuguese Labour Code and, where stated, Law 102/2009. It does not replace the collective agreement for your sector or legal advice.

Frequently asked questions
Is the municipal holiday mandatory?
Not as a rule. Carnival Tuesday and the municipal holiday are optional holidays: they are only mandatory if they are provided for in the applicable collective agreement or in the employment contract (Article 235 of the Labour Code).
Which municipal holidays appear in the calendar?
The TeamYo calendar includes the national public holidays and those of the region and municipality set for the company.
Can I copy the roster from one week to the next?
Yes, per location. Days that already have a shift are not changed, and the copy does not place shifts on top of approved absences.
How much does it cost?
Leave and absence management is free for up to 5 employees, with no time limit. The digital time clock, shifts and payroll calculations are part of the Pro plan, at €1.70 per employee/month billed annually or €2.00 billed monthly. For teams of 25 or more employees, there is the Enterprise plan, priced on request.
